The reviewers were amazed by the strong marketability and commerciality of its clothing series. Next, it will be able to cooperate with Timberland, a global outdoor lifestyle brand, for an unprecedented sustainable design series.
Chang Zhilin said: "Working with Timberland will be an opportunity to change my life. As a new designer, it is daunting to come to this complex industry for the first time, because we can always receive bad news and be in it. Intricate circles. We know we can bring about change. However, as newcomers, it is difficult for us to make bold and unconventional attempts. The "Redress Design Contest" gives me confidence to become a designer who promotes sustainable development. Before I achieve my goal, I Will always keep moving forward."
Won the ORSOLA DE CASTRO Merit Award-Jin Beiwen
Another Taiwanese designer, Jin Beiwen, won the ORSOLA DE CASTRO Merit Award. The clothing series was inspired by the geometric patterns of the various polygons in the tangram puzzle, and created the zero-waste design "Tangram Club". She upgraded the waste of fashion industry into a rich feminine series, designed to suit all body types and provide a variety of ways to wear. The design of this series also took into account that the clothes can be easily disassembled at the end of their life and combined into another style, thereby prolonging the service life of the textiles.
"I believe that the only way for the fashion industry to coexist with nature is to prioritize sustainability in every decision. As a fashion designer, I have the responsibility to pay attention to the aesthetic standards of the work, and not to ignore whether the entire production process behind the clothing is well received. Monitor and control." Jin Beiwen said.
